The journey invocation
Subḥāna lladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa-mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa-innā ilā rabbinā la-munqalibūn.
Glory be to the One who placed this at our service; we could not have mastered it ourselves. We will surely return to our Lord.
Allāhumma innā nasʾaluka fī safarinā hādhā l-birra wa-t-taqwā, wa-mina l-ʿamali mā tarḍā.
Allah, we ask You for goodness and mindfulness of You on this journey, and for deeds that please You.
Allāhumma hawwin ʿalaynā safaranā hādhā wa-ṭwi ʿannā buʿdah.
Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance for us.
Anta ṣ-ṣāḥibu fī s-safari wa-l-khalīfatu fī l-ahl.
You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian of the family in our absence.
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min waʿthāʾi s-safari, wa-kaʾābati l-manẓari, wa-sūʾi l-munqalabi fī l-māli wa-l-ahl.
Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of travel, from distressing sights, and from returning to harm in my possessions or family.
The wording follows Al-Kalim al-Tayyib’s quoted report. Its fourth line begins “You are…” without repeating “Allah”. Other editions include that opening. The return-from-travel addition is a separate context and is not silently added to this departure selection.

When to read
The report describes setting out on a journey: takbir three times, then this invocation. The Quranic words at its opening are transmitted inside the report. The reader follows the quoted wording of Al-Kalim al-Tayyib, not a separate imported Quran edition.
